New Land Rover Freelander 2 Review
Land Rover has for many years had to put up with their competitors making "pretty" looking 4x4's that eat into their market share, as a result the Freelander was conceived. Almost too pretty to be a Land Rover, the Freelander 2 however, hasn't lost any of it's famous Land Rover off road abilities. Just as capable off the road as it is on the tarmac, the Freelander 2 is equally at home on the school run or a trip across the North York moors.
Originally launched in 1997 the Freelander quickly established itself as the market leader in its sector, face lifted in 2004, with major interior and exterior changes, the new Freelander 2 is available in either three or five door variants, E, S, SE, HSE, Sport and Sport Premium levels of trim (HSE five door only) and a choice of two petrol's and one diesel engine.
A great off road feature on the Freelander is Hill descent control, this allows you to stay in control when tackling steep, slippery inclines making off roading that little bit easier for those not used to 4x4 driving.
All in all, if there is any badge you need on the back of a 4x4 it has got to be Land Rover, it has the history and the proven track record that no other manufacturer can match, add to that the looks and you will no doubt arrive at the Land Rover Freelander.
Like the looks of the Land Rover Freelander 2, why not check out the Toyota Rav4, the BMW X3 or the Volvo XC70.
