New Peugeot 308 Review
Peugeot have had fantastic success with their range of super mini's, the latest edition to the range however is in the mid range class, designed to take on the likes of the Ford Focus and the Vauxhall Astra the new replacement for the popular 307 is the new Peugeot 308. More a case of evolution rather than revolution, the 308 has taken its styling cues from its smaller sibling the 207, a longer, diving nose than the 307 and large headlights sliced into the front corners ensures you know itÂ?s a Peugeot with just a glance.
An all-new interior gives the 308 a feeling of spaciousness that the 307 failed to deliver, indeed the fascia is more than a match for most of its competitors. Interior plastics and fabrics have also been improved and the whole overall feel of the interior is a vast improvement over the model it will eventually replace.
As with all Peugeots, there is a huge choice of engine and trim combinations and a visit to the Peugeot website is recommended to make your final choice.
Already tested by Euro NCAP, the 308 scores a maximum five star rating for its adult occupancy test, four stars for the child occupancy test and three stars for the pedestrian test, comparable to the likes of the VW Golf, the Citroen C4 and the Toyota Auris. This has been achieved with a host of passive and active safety devices, base models have a minimum of six airbags and with top end models this number is increased to nine. All models have ABS with electronic brake force distribution and emergency brake assist, the Sport, SE and GT models also make use of Peugeots electronic stability programme.
Like the looks of the Peugeot 308, why not check out the Citroen C4, the Ford Focus, the VW Golf, The Vauxhall Astra or the Toyota Auris.
