New Peugeot 407 SW Review
If its room you need take a look at the 407 SW, all the refinement and good looks of the 407 with the added space and load capacity of an estate car.
Built on the same platform as the 407, the SW is however slightly longer to accommodate the tailgate rear and although this only contributes an extra 23 litres of boot space when loaded to the bottom of the window, drop the back seats and load it to the roof and you get a far more respectable capacity of 1365 litres. With a very low-level loading sill the 407 SW is simple for loading heavy objects and if the space is restricted like in the local multi storey car park the tailgate glass can be opened independently allowing easy access to the boot space.
Other differences to the 407 include the large panoramic glass roof, manufactured from laminated 6mm tinted glass this feature allows light to flood into the passenger compartment and gives unparalleled views for the occupants. Fixed Aluminium roof bars are also standard throughout the 407 SW range.
You get the same engine line up as with the 407, plus the generous specification and safety levels including the electronic gadgetry that coordinates anti-skid brakes, brake assist, brake force distribution and stability control. You also get the same seven airbags as standard on all models, nine on the top specification Executive range, making the 407 SW an exceptionally safe drive.
Like the looks of the Peugeot 407 SW, why not check out the Audi A4 Avant, the BMW 3 Series Touring, the Volvo V50, the Renault Laguna Sport Tourer, the VW Passat Estate, The Vauxhall Vectra Estate or the Toyota Avensis Tourer.
