New Skoda Roomster Review
Van Based MPV's have been with us for many years, but Skoda didn't have a van to base this concept on, so they came up with the Roomster, the first van based MPV that isn't based on a van.
In the Roomster, Skoda have managed to create two distinct areas within the car, the front is extremely car like and indeed the drive and handling reflects this, the rear however offers passengers flexibility through SkodaÂ?s clever seating system, the seats slide, recline, or can be removed individually to maximise the space and comfort for individual passengers. Remove all the rear seats and the Roomster takes on van like proportions and proves to be an extremely practical load lugger.
Although the Roomster looks tall, the handling is nimble and the overall feel of the car is responsive, body roll is low and with the wheels planted at each corner you'll be pleasantly surprised at how car like this MPV is. Fit and finish, as with all Skoda's nowadays, is everything you would expect from Volkswagen, making the Roomster more than a match for most of its van based competitors.
The Roomster comes with a choice of six engines, three petrol and three diesels, there is also a choice of three trim levels in the form of the 1, 2 and 3, so there should be a combination to suit the needs of most families. So for those who need a van based MPV, who donÂ?t really want a van based MPV, the Skoda Roomster may be the ideal choice, even if it is the only choice.
