New Toyota Aygo Review
The Toyota Aygo is one part of a joint venture between Toyota, Citroen and Peugeot. Toyota is producing the Aygo with the other two manufacturers making the C1 and 107 respectively. All three models share the same engine, the same structure and the same running gear, so the differences are mainly in the styling and the trim levels of the respective models.
There is a choice of two engines for the Aygo, a 1.0 litre, three cylinder petrol unit that develops 67 bhp and a 1.4 litre diesel that will produce 53 bhp, both engines have the option of five speed manual transmission or Toyota's five speed Multimode automatic transmission.
With three different trim levels to choose from, the Aygo, Aygo Plus and the Aygo Sport. Beginning with the standard Aygo, this trim level has amongst other things, a four seat capacity, 14" X-spoke steel wheels with full wheel caps, electronically controlled anti lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution with cornering stability control, AM/FM radio / single disc CD player with preset settings and two speakers, stepless tilt adjustable steering column, driver & front passenger airbags with passenger airbag cut-off switch, integrated unique fit audio with Liquid Crystal Display, two front cup holders, driver seat belt warning, electronic headlamp levelling, engine management warning, internally manual adjustable exterior mirrors, rear fog Lamps with auto cancelling, colour keyed front and rear bumpers with integrated mouldings, mesh effect front grille, full size spare wheel, fully trimmed boot, green tinted glass, glove box tray, front integrated headrests, high mounted stop lamp, front interior light, lights on warning, oil warning light, speed sensitive power Assisted Steering, RDS with PTY and EON settings, roof mounted radio aerial, removable rear parcel shelf, rear pop out windows, heated rear screen, continual sweep rear wipers, driver & passenger manual recline and slide adjustment, red tone rear light cluster, front seatbelts with electronic sensing, pre-tensioner & force limiter, two rear seatbelts with emergency locking retractor, security window etching linked to 24hr ISR helpline, side impact beams on all side doors, steering column lock, 3-spoke steering wheel, storage box in centre console, transponder key engine immobiliser, vehicle parts marking - major parts traceable to VIN, Onyx cloth upholstery and chilli red solid paint all as standard.
The Aygo Plus has electric front windows, remote central locking, side airbags a dark grey trim and an up rated sound system all in addition or replacement to the standard trim level.
With the Aygo Sport you have amongst other things 14" five spoke alloy wheels and fog lamps and the features that are included on the Aygo Plus.
